Feeding slates have been used as a tool for many years by tortoise keepers to file down the tortoises beaks as they bite down to get their food. 
The beaks, just like our own finger nails are constantly growing so keeping them trim can need a little assistance. 
These slates are also used to keep their food up off the loose substrates. 
These slates are 10cm so a great size for young tortoises without taking up too much space in their enclosure. 
These can used in both inside and outside enclosures. Can be washed with warm water and a reptile friendly cleaner.
